Michel Vincent, PT/MOMT
Owner of Vincent Physical Therapy

"SOLO-STEP® has given our facility an added edge to take on more challenging cases safely for both the patients and therapists”

Mark McDonald, PT/OCS
Director of McDonald Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Centers

"Since installing the SOLO-STEP® unit, we have found it extremely useful for the rehabilitation of amputees, paraplegics, weight bearing restricted orthopedic patients, stroke patients, as well as our patients with multiple sclerosis.  I am sure we will find many more applications as time goes on. We are 100% pleased with the quality, safety, and reliability of the SOLO-STEP® device.”

To whom it may concern:

I would like to personally recommend the SOLO-STEP® for use with your patients. Whether you are in a hospital, nursing home or outpatient setting, the SOLO-STEP® will pay for itself easily for the following reasons.

  1. Safety. For patients at risk of falls, this new device will aid in the prevention of falls.
  2. No matter the size or strength of the therapist, this piece of equipment can reduce their exposure to injuring himself or herself.
  3. Insurance companies demand progress with skilled therapy. Not only does this device allow you to address some of the more difficult patient’s needs with realistic goals, it allows you to explain why, and how those goals will be addressed. You are therefore able to pick up challenging patients with a realistic expectation of achieving reachable goals safely.
  4. If it requires 2-3 therapists to safely treat a patient, you are unable to bill out for the 2nd or 3rd therapist’s time. With the SOLO-STEP® it is not a problem. While you focus on prompting or foot placement and the skilled part of the treatment, the safety of the patient is taken care of without non-billable help.
  5. Coding. I find it much easier to justify my codes for therapeutic exercise, gait training and balance activities when the SOLO-STEP® is used. It is easier to spend more time with the patient when truly dynamic exercise, gait and balance are being addressed.
  6. Patient Confidence! My patients feel so much safer with the SOLO-STEP®. The number one reason for stopping a lot of the treatments is a fear of falling. With the SOLO-STEP® they are enough at ease they are willing to push on with no reservations. Therefore, better gains can be achieved.
  7. Diversity. The SOLO-STEP® differs from other external safety devices by allowing freedom of movement. It allows freedom of movement in all directions, or planes meaning side-to-side, forward and back and even up and down with transfers or on a step. It can be set up over a treadmill, stationary bike, balance machine, etc. Only you limit the options.
  8. Cost. By comparison to other, less dynamic pieces of equipment, it is a steal!

“I have been using the SOLO-STEP® with a variety of patients in my clinic. I have one patient who was terrified to ambulate alone and this was really impairing his function at home. He was using a wheelchair for mobility. After three sessions on the SOLO-STEP®, he increased his confidence and ambulatory distance from 30 feet to 60 feet and was able to discontinue use of the wheelchair in his home.”

“SOLO-STEP® is space-saving, and simple. It allows me to step back and assess the client during gait and balance therapy.”
